JAKARTA - The National Mandate Party (PAN), which is outside the coalition supporting the government, apparently participated in a meeting between President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and high-ranking party supporters that was held today at the State Palace.
"This meeting was attended by the chairman and secretary general of the PDI-P, Gerindra, Golkar, PKB, NasDem, PPP, but also PAN," said PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto in a written statement to reporters, Wednesday, August 25.
PDIP, he continued, welcomed this meeting because all the general chairmen of political parties who were present felt the importance of working together with the components of the nation. In addition, they also agreed that President Jokowi had overcome the pandemic on the right track.
In this meeting the spirit of gotong royong and positive energy for the government, said Hasto, was felt. Moreover, PAN, which is outside the coalition, was also present, thus showing this attitude even more.
"The presence of Mr. Zulkifli Hasan and Bung Eddy Soeparno as the General Chair and Secretary General of PAN further proves how mutual cooperation is put forward," said Hasto.
He also mentioned that the presence of PAN in this meeting provided more positive energy for the consolidation of the government of President Jokowi and his deputy, Ma'ruf Amin, which was important in the midst of a pandemic.
"From the dialogue between the general chairmen of political parties, apart from strengthening optimism, it is also a good tradition," he said.
