TANGERANG – After several days of searching for the perpetrators of the baby dumping in the courtyard of the Al Muhajirin Mosque in Tangerang, Pinang Police finally managed to arrest a woman who was the perpetrator of the action.
Pinang Police Chief, Iptu Tapril said the perpetrator had the initials W (28), who was the biological mother of the poor baby. Tapril said W was arrested on the evening of Tuesday, August 24.
"He has been arrested (the baby dumper) last night at his house," said Tapril quoting PMJ, Wednesday, August 25.
Tapril also explained that the baby was the result of an illicit relationship with a married man. And now W has been named a suspect.
The case of this baby disposal, said Tapril, was transferred to the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Tangerang City Police Metro.
"The perpetrator has been named a suspect, we have delegated the case to the Tangkot Police," he said.
For his actions, the suspect will be subject to Article 305 and Article 306. The threat of punishment is in the form of imprisonment for a maximum of 9 years.
Previously, a video went viral on social media. The video from CCTV footage of the Al Muhajirin mosque in Tangerang shows a woman placing a baby wrapped in cloth on the floor of the mosque near the entrance. The woman then went outside the mosque, running away.
