Involved In Gaslighting Scandal, SM Entertainment Stops Lucas NCT's Activities

JAKARTA - The SM Entertainment agency released an official statement regarding the gaslighting scandal involving the name Lucas WayV or NCT today, August 25. Gaslighting is a form of manipulation that usually occurs in unhealthy relationships. This form of manipulation is carried out by someone to appear powerful and can control others by making the victim unsure of himself.

In the last two days, the internet has been shocked by someone claiming to be Lucas' ex-girlfriend. He wrote Lucas' act of gaslighting and being a gold digger. He said he was originally a Lucas fan until one day Lucas contacted him and they started dating. When in a relationship, Lucas often gaslights by saying, "I don't like you being too fan-like."

This woman also said that she had bought a luxurious gift and Lucas refused on the grounds that she didn't need the gift except for a house or a car. "He (Lucas) didn't thank me when I paid him."

One day later, a netizen from China also shared a similar experience as the author of the first post.

Today, August 25, SM Entertainment wrote a statement apologizing for Lucas' personal life. Therefore, they will postpone the release of the song Jalapeño which was scheduled to be released today.

"Lucas is contemplating his wrongful actions and the agency is also responsible for the poor management of the artist." On the same day, Lucas also uploaded an apology in Chinese and Korean.

“I apologize to those of you who feel hurt for my wrong actions. If you give me a chance, I also want to apologize in person.”

Lucas also admitted that all his past actions were wrong. "This is an act of irresponsibility that betrays the support that fans have shown me for a long time."

He believed that nothing like this would happen and temporarily stopped all activities for self-reflection.

“Finally, I would like to apologize to the group members, company staff, cooperative firms, and broadcasting members for this. I am sorry."

Thus the release of the song Jalapeño sung by Lucas NCT and Hendery WayV will be postponed indefinitely.
