Who Is Mr. Guru Bajang, The BSI Commissioner From NTB Who Makes Lombok The World's Best Halal Tourism Destination
JAKARTA - Decision of stakeholders of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk. (BSI) to appoint Muhammad Zainul Majdi to be the vice president commissioner of the company through the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) is a strategic policy.
The reason is, Muhammad Zainul Majdi alias Tuan Guru Bajang (TGB) is one of the national figures who is known to play an active role in the development of the sharia economy.
In his place of origin, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), TGB is a community leader. He is the third son of Djalaluddin and Rauhun Zainuddin Abdul Madjid. The TGB family is the founder of the largest Islamic organization in NTB, Nahdlatul Wathan (NW) and the founder of the Darun-Nahdlatain Islamic Boarding School.
TGB is recorded to have completed S1 to S3 education at Al-Azhar for 10 years. In the course of his career, he has also led NTB as governor for two terms, namely in 2008-2013 and 2013-2018.
Under his leadership, NTB succeeded in developing the Islamic economy. In fact, NTB has been named the best halal tourism destination in the world by a global credible institution.
For his services, the government has awarded several awards, including the Ksatria Bhakti Husada Award from the President of the Republic of Indonesia in 2008, the 2010 Indonesia Tourism Award from the Ministry of Tourism.
Then, the award as the Best National Guiding Governor in 2012 from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Bintang Mahaputra Utama Award from the President of the Republic of Indonesia in 2012, Lombok as the World's Best Halal Honeymoon Destination and the World's Best Halal Tourism Destination at The World Halal Travel Summit in the United Arab Emirates ( UAE) 2015.
Presumably, the figure of TGB is very fitting to fill the position of high-ranking BSI because it has been able to prove its capacity as a Muslim leader who has successfully raised the economy significantly.
Moreover, Indonesia will host several world-class sporting events which are scheduled to take place in the province of central Indonesia. Good job Mr. Teacher.
