Two Teens In Aceh Threatened With Death Penalty For Caught Bringing 1Kg S Methamphetamine
ACEH - East Aceh Police Narcotics Unit (Polres) personnel arrested two teenagers for allegedly carrying methamphetamine drugs weighing up to one kilogram.
Head of the Public Relations Subdivision of the East Aceh Police, Iptu Agusman Said Nasution, said the two had the initials MK (21), a resident of Matang Nibong Village, Madat District, East Aceh, and WN (21) a resident of Putoh Sa Village, Pantee Bidari District, East Aceh.
"They were arrested on Jalan Medan Banda Aceh, Peulalu Village, Simpang Ulim District, East Aceh Regency," said Iptu Agusman Said Nasution in East Aceh, reported by Antara, Tuesday, August 24.
Iptu Agusman Said said the arrest of the perpetrator was based on information from the public who said there would be a red Honda CBR motorcycle suspected of carrying narcotics.
From this information, the personnel of the Narcotics Unit of the East Aceh Police carried out an investigation by monitoring the vehicles reported by the public. Then, he said, a Honda CBR motorcycle with police number BL 3428 NAH was driven by a WN riding with MK on Jalan Medan-Banda Aceh, Peulalu Village. , Simpang Ulim District, East Aceh Regency.
Officers stopped and checked both of them along with the motorcycle. From the results of the examination, it was found that the plastic package with Chinese characters was suspected to contain methamphetamine weighing up to one kilogram.
Based on these findings, the two perpetrators were brought to the East Aceh Police for further development and investigation, said Iptu Agusman Said Nasution.
"The two perpetrators were charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with 112 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with the threat of life imprisonment or the death penalty," said Iptu Agusman Said Nasution.
