According To Megawati's Instructions, PDIP Is Slowing Down On The Discourse On The Limited Amendment To The 1945 Constitution
JAKARTA - Secretary General of the PDI-P DPP Hasto Kristiyanto spoke following the discourse on limited amendments to the 1945 Constitution, particularly regarding the Principles of State Policy (PPHN).
According to Hasto, PDIP is fully aware that in its implementation, every idea (amendment, ed) must also pay attention to the existing mystical atmosphere. This means that currently an important issue that must be faced is the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Therefore, the chairwoman, Mrs. Megawati regarding the amendments, has emphasized that the PDI-P's policy is slowing down, related to the amendments to the 1945 Constitution," said Hasto after a meeting with the Gerindra Party DPP as reported by Antara, Jakarta, Tuesday, 24 August.
In an effort to help the people overcome the pandemic, a conducive political atmosphere is needed, so that what is more encouraged is to build positive energy, the energy of mutual cooperation for the interests of the nation and state far above the interests of political parties.
"So related to the amendment, once again, the step for slowing down is a policy taken because our priority scale is the issue of this pandemic," he said.
The decision of the 5th PDI-P Congress to encourage the existence of a State Policy as regulated in the constitution. The idea of a limited amendment became a congressional decision, along with the idea of making changes to the Election Law, including the Presidential Election Law.
Secretary General of the DPP Gerindra Party, Ahmad Muzani, stated that they supported the limited amendment of the 1945 Constitution to revive the state's direction.
However, the Gerindra Party is currently waiting for a decision from the MPR. "We talked about this earlier, but once again finally we are waiting for some things that are being prepared by the MPR," he said.
He considered the need for a state direction because until now there has been no design for Indonesia in the future. In 2045 Indonesia will be one century old, so it needs design in various fields.
"Until now, we haven't had a design for a century of the Republic of Indonesia in terms of what kind of health, what kind of education, what kind of economy, then to achieve these goals, we have to use what kind of supporting tools are needed," said Muzani.
The Principles of State Policy, said Muzani, are also needed for sustainable development to occur. "That's why then the direction of the state that was thought of became the thoughts of our leaders so that the long state design of the republic of Indonesia would be sustainable," said Muzani.
