Ahead Of The August Closing, PEN Budget Absorption 43 Percent Worth Rp326 Trillion

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati said that the realization of the National Economic Program (PEN) until August 20, 2021 reached Rp326.16 trillion or 43.8 PERCENT from the Rp744.77 trillion ceiling.

“PEN has some changes in its composition, especially after the Delta variant. So our total PEN has increased from IDR 699 trillion to IDR 744 trillion," he said as reported by the official website, Tuesday, August 24.

In detail, the Minister of Finance explained that the realization in the health sector was Rp. 77.18 trillion or 35.9 percent of the ceiling of Rp. 214.96 trillion.

The funds were used for diagnostic testing and tracing, treatment costs for 426,940 COVID-19 patients, health workers incentives, death compensation, drugs and PPE, procurement of 81.42 million doses of vaccine, assistance for National Health Insurance contributions, as well as health tax incentives.

Then, the social protection sector has realized Rp99.33 trillion or 53.2 percent of the Rp186.64 trillion ceiling which is used to provide family hope programs, basic food cards, cash assistance to 10 million families, Village BLT, Pre-Employment Cards, internet quotas, and electricity subsidies.

Then, the realization of MSME and corporate support until August 2021 is IDR 48.02 trillion or 29.6 percent of the IDR 162.40 trillion ceiling with benefits for Micro Business Aid (BPUM) 11.84 million businesses, MSME IJP for 2.04 million MSMEs, Corporate IJP for 26 corporations.

“MSMEs are only 29.6 percent. Only BPUM can run this, it also reached the previous 12 million, still 11.84 million businesses can do it," he said.

Furthermore, the placement of funds in banks with total credit disbursement since 2020 has reached Rp417.57 trillion to 5.31 million debtors, as well as interest subsidies for KUR and non-KUR for 4.47 million debtors.

"We are still placing funds in several banks and KUR subsidies with the total allocation or realization of KUR requested to be increased this year, we will see an increase, especially later for KUR subsidies," explained the Minister of Finance.

Meanwhile, for the priority program expenditure sector, IDR 50.25 trillion or 42.6 percent of the IDR 117.94 trillion ceiling has been realized, which includes labor-intensive programs, food security tourism, and the provision of public information technology infrastructure.

The next sector is business incentives with a realization of IDR 51.39 trillion or 81.8 percent of the ceiling of IDR 62.83 trillion with benefits for PPh 21 DTP for 73,970 employers, final PPh for DTP MSMEs for 119,354 MSMEs, and various other incentives.
