Ketum PSSI And Shin Tae-yong Talk Heart To Heart Immediately, Signal That The Conflict Will End?
JAKARTA - The polemic between the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) and the Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong, seems to be coming to an end. The plan, PSSI General Chairperson Mochamad Iriawan will talk to the coach via virtual.
Acting (Plt) Secretary General (Sekjen) PSSI, Yunus Nusi said, PSSI Ketum will speak privately on Friday, June 26 afternoon. Both will only be accompanied by a translator to discuss the problem.
"The general chairman wants to have a heart-to-heart talk with Shin Tae-yong," Yunus told the media, last Thursday.
Don't know what the two will discuss later. However, it is believed that the main focus is the preparation of the Indonesian national team which is faced with several important agendas going forward.
To note, the senior Indonesian national team will face the 2022 Asian Zone World Cup Qualification in October. Meanwhile, the U-19 Indonesian national team will compete in Uzbekistan in the same month. Of course, preparations have to be done in advance in order to achieve maximum results.
The PSSI Ketum also seems to be evaluating the program that was prepared by Shin Tae-yong before the COVID-19 pandemic made the plans that had been prepared unable to go according to expectations. Including Shin Tae-yong's wish to hold a training camp abroad.
"The general chairman will be patient and encouraged to accept and accommodate Shin Tae-yong's wishes. Shin really only wants to talk to the general chairman," said Yunus Nusi.
Before speaking with Shin Tae-yong, PSSI Chairman Mochamad Iriawan was scheduled to attend a preparatory meeting for the 2021 U-20 World Cup. In this meeting, also attended the Ministry of Youth and Sports, State Secretariat and Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing.
