There Is Discrimination In Entertainment Venues During The Transitional PSBB In Jakarta, Anies Must Step In
JAKARTA - The enforcement of business premises that violate the transitional PSBB in DKI Jakarta is still being carried out. The Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) temporarily closed a number of restaurants, spas and karaoke places for violations.
However, several restaurants in Jakarta still violate the transitional PSBB regulations. There are a number of restaurants in the South Jakarta area that do not close their bars when operating.
As a result, the bar became a gathering place for young people who did not heed the COVID-19 prevention protocol. Then, there was the impression of neglect from the opening of the bar. In fact, currently the bar is included in the evening entertainment category which is currently not allowed to be opened.
Responding to this, a public policy observer from Trisakti University, Trubus Rahadiansyah, considered that the supervision of the Jakarta Provincial Government, especially the DKI Disparekraf, was still weak in taking action against this place. In fact, Governor Regulation Number 41 of 2020 has regulated sanctions for businesses that violate PSBB rules.
"So, that's discriminatory treatment. If it's discriminatory, there is a concern that there's an invisible hand, or people who have the power to back up but we don't know who, so they continue to operate," said Trubus when contacted, Thursday, June 25. .
In fact, according to Trubus, the opening of this bar has the potential to create new clusters of COVID-19 transmission, such as the market. This is because visitors there do not apply physical distancing and crowding.
"The problem is not that employees or visitors there become victims. Health issues are prioritized. So, entertainment venues that are not yet suitable to be opened should not be opened. Do not be overly tolerated," said Trubus.
When there was still neglect, Trubus said that the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan should evaluate the ranks of Disparekraf as operators who oversee the compliance of business premises during the transitional PSBB period.
"The governor must take action against his subordinates if someone is playing. The head of his service must also evaluate his internal ranks. Then, the DPRD as a supervisory agency can also call the service. Given a warning to evaluate if the performance is not good," said Trubus.
"Because violations like this cannot just blame the owners of entertainment venues, the local government should also be the policy makers," he continued.
