About Klopp, The Coach Who Changed Liverpool's History
JAKARTA - October 2015 Jurgen Klopp replaces Brendan Rodgers as Liverpool coach. At that time, the Reds were eighth in the Premier League.
When introduced to the media and fans, Klopp referred to himself as 'The Normal One'. He knows, bringing Liverpool back to its former glory is not easy.
The first line-up he used consisted of Simon Mignolet, Nathaniel Clyne, Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho, Alberto Moreno, Lucas Leiva, Emre Can, Adam Lallana, Philippe Coutinho, James Milner, and Divock Origi.
With these players, he ended the season in eighth position (the same as when Rodgers left) and finished fourth twice in 2016/17 and 2017/18.
Liverpool gradually improved and reached the Europa League final in 2016 and the Champions League final two years later. However, the Reds lost to Sevilla and Real Madrid, on each of those occasions.
Success in Europe arrived in 2019 when Klopp led his men to win the Champions League trophy. At the peak of the party, the Reds beat Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid.

The European Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup subsequently adorned the trophy cabinet at Anfield. But still something was missing, which Liverpool craved most ... the Premier League trophy.
When competition is stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Reds really only need two more wins. They have to be patient waiting for the certainty of their first league title after 30 years and three months.
But when the league started again, Liverpool seemed to waste an opportunity. In the Merseyside derby against Everton they were held to a goalless draw at Goodison Park.

In the next match. Jordan Henderson led his team by slaughtering Crystal Palace 4-0. Yes, the Reds are on the verge of winning and are just waiting for the results of Chelsea against Manchester City.
After Chelsea beat Manchester City 2-1 on Thursday, Klopp's men are confirmed to have won the Premier League trophy.
"We want to create our own history," promised Klopp after losing the league title last season.
That's what he and his players managed to do a year later. Klopp, the coach who changed Liverpool's history.
