West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi Prays For Former Deputy Governor Nasrul Abit To Recover From COVID-19

PADANG - West Sumatra Governor Mahyeldi conveyed his moral support to the former Deputy Governor of West Sumatra, Nasrul Abit, who was exposed to COVID-19 and was being treated at the M Djamil Padang General Hospital, so that he would recover soon.

Through a telephone connection in Padang, Governor Mahyeldi directly contacted the General Director of RSUP M Djamil Dr Dovy Djanas to ask about the current condition of Nasrul Abit.

According to Dr Dovy, Nasrul's condition is currently being closely monitored by health workers and a special team has been formed to monitor his progress.

Mahyeldi also hopes that RSUP M Djamil will give full attention to Nasrul's condition.

"I pray for Mr. NA that he will recover quickly and be able to carry out his activities as usual," Mahyeldi said, quoted by Antara, Monday, August 23 night.

Mahyeldi's wife, Harneli, also contacted Nasrul Abit's wife, Wartawati, to give her direct encouragement.

"We pray together for the best for you. I hope you recover soon, Buk Wati," said Harneli.

Former Deputy Governor of West Sumatra Nasrul Abit tested positive for COVID-19 and was treated at the Central General Hospital (RSUP) M Djamil Padang.

The official providing information and documentation at the DR M Djamil Hospital, Gustavianof, said that Nasrul was being treated in the Tulip ICU room which was used specifically for handling COVID-19 patients since Sunday, August 22.

According to him, the treatment room for the Deputy Governor of West Sumatra for the 2016-2021 period is sterile and cannot be entered except for officers. He ensured that Nasrul Abit's treatment was carried out according to hospital standards in serving COVID-19 patients.

Nasrul Abit is the Deputy Governor of West Sumatra for the 2016-2021 period accompanying Irwan Prayitno. He previously served as Regent of Pesisir Selatan for two terms from 2005-2015 and Deputy Regent of Pesisir Selatan 2000-2005.
