Residents Are Asked To Report If There Are PMKS Hanging At JPO
JAKARTA - Central Jakarta Social Sub-dept., Ngapuli Parangin-angin, said that his party was still waiting for reports from the public regarding the presence of Persons with Social Welfare Problems (PMKS) on the People's Crossing Bridge (JPO) in the Central Jakarta area.
"We monitor it and if there is a report from the community, we will immediately act, the P3S Sudinsos team immediately works. We ask for community participation to inform us immediately," he said when contacted by VOI, Monday, August 23.
Based on data from the Central Jakarta Sub-dept. of Social Services, the number of PMKS that have been captured by Social Service, Supervision and Control (P3S) officers during January - July 2021 is 1,235 people.
"The street PMKS that were caught during January to July 2021 were the homeless mode with a total of 292 people. While the minimum number was a manusia gerobak with a total of 1 person and 1 person with a disability," he said.
The second highest number of street PMKS is displaced people, as many as 153 people.
"While the third highest number are scavengers, namely 144 people," he said.
Kasudin said that there were 83 Central Jakarta P3S officers. They were deployed in 16 PMKS-prone points in Central Jakarta and divided into 2 work shifts.
"If there is no report from the community, we don't know. If there is a report from the community that there are beggars there, we will immediately move," he said.
