Mayor: Continuation Of PPKM In Palangka Raya Waiting For Presidential Instructions

JAKARTA - The Mayor of Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan Province, Fairid Naparin, said that the continuation of Level 4 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in the local city was waiting for the Indonesian President's instructions.

"We will inform you after there is an official instruction from the President and we will definitely adjust it to the regional conditions," Fairid said in Palangka Raya, as reported by Antara, Monday, August 23.

While waiting for the instructions, currently the "City of Beauty" Government is also still coordinating and evaluating PPKM.

People in the capital city of Central Kalimantan Province are also asked to be patient waiting for PPKM confirmation, besides that they also continue to apply the 5M health protocol strictly. The Palangka Raya City Government also continues to increase the tracking ratio by implementing 3T.

In addition, it also continues to tighten the implementation of micro-scale PPKM which is considered quite effective in suppressing the spread of COVID-19 by involving community participation in handling the virus starting from the lower and tiered levels.

At the national COVID-19 handling meeting some time ago, two regions in Central Kalimantan, namely Palangka Raya City and Kapuas Regency, were still categorized as high-risk areas.

Meanwhile, based on data from the Palangka Raya COVID-19 Task Force until last Sunday, there were 66 patients recovered from the corona virus. Along with the addition of 66 recovered patients, the accumulation of patients who were declared free from exposure to COVID-19 was 10,163 people or 83.65 percent of the total. the number of positive cases reached 12,149 people.

Meanwhile, the Palangka Raya COVID-19 Task Force also recorded the addition of 57 positive cases, and 1,517 people who were positive and still undergoing treatment or 12.49 percent of the total positive cases.

Of all the existing COVID-19 cases, 469 people in the capital city of Central Kalimantan province died after the addition of three more deaths.

As an effort to break the chain of spread of COVID-19, the Palangka Raya City Government, through the task force team, continues to make various efforts, ranging from socialization, early detection, security to case handling.
