COVID Update August 23: New Positives Add 9,604, Down 2,000 Cases Compared To Yesterday
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19, Monday, August 22 at 12.00 WIB. There were an addition of 9,604 new cases.
This figure is lower than the record on Sunday, August 22, 2021 as many as 12,408 cases.
The report also revealed that the daily cure rate increased by 24,758 people with a mortality rate of 842 cases.
In detail, the largest increase in positive cases occurred in West Java with a record of 1,483 cases. Followed by East Java with 1,073 cases, Central Java with 798 cases, North Sumatra with 514 cases, and DI Yogyakarta with 507 cases.
Meanwhile, for the areas with the most healing, East Java with 3,282 people, North Sumatra with 2,212 people, West Java with 1,602 people, Yogyakarta with 1,553 people, and Central Java with 1,142 people.
Then, the highest death rate was in East Java with 189 cases, Central Java 98 cases, Bali 66 cases, Lampung 58 cases, and DI Yogyakarta with 39 cases.
In terms of vaccination, it was recorded that 57,779,716 people received the phase I vaccine with a special addition today of 440,409 people.
Then, for the second phase of the vaccine, it is known that it has been distributed to 32,046,224 people with the addition of 444,356 people. Meanwhile, the vaccination target targeted by the government for the current period is 208,265,720 doses.
