Instagram Trials Reels, TikTok-style Creative Short Videos In France And Germany
JAKARTA - Did you know that Instagram has a short video recording feature similar to TikTok called Reels. This feature, which was first launched in Brazil, can now be accessed by Instagram users in France and Germany.
As quoted by Social Media Today, Thursday, June 25, the Reels feature allows users to record a short 15-second video to which music can be added. Just like TikTok, Reels users can also share unique video results to other platforms.
It is very similar to what TikTok has. However, Reels has a suite of editing tools that make it easier to use for shooting creative videos, such as a countdown feature and adjustable speed transitions.
Like an Instagram Stories, Reels will disappear after 24 hours of broadcast. However, users can save the Reels they create with the Highlight feature. When stored through this feature, the Reels video will also have the opportunity to stand out in the ranks of other Reels' top videos that are currently viral.
Unfortunately, netizens still lack Reels' interest. In addition to its function which is still one with Instagram, Reels video shows can only be seen by users in one friendship network.
With the Reels network expanding through expansion to Germany and France, Instagram promises to make a number of changes to its application. So that Reels users can also share with new audiences, such as the Instagram Feed.

Reels isn't Facebook's only first attempt to challenge TikTok's popularity. The parent company Instagram has launched a short video feature called Lasso in its application several times.
However, Lasso is said to be less effective in attracting user interest because it is a stand-alone application, and has not been integrated with Facebook or Instagram. Apart from Germany and France, there is no information on when the Reels feature will greet other countries.
