PKB General Chair Muhaimin Iskandar Optimistic PKB To Reach The Top 3 Of The 2024 Election: Not Impossible To Rank First
JAKARTA - The Chairperson of the National Awakening Party (PKB) reiterates his optimism that the party he leads has a chance to win by breaking into the top three positions in the upcoming 2024 General Election (Pemilu).
"With the current party existence and the support and hard work of all DPW administrators in 34 provinces, I am optimistic that PKB can reach the top two positions in the upcoming 2024 Election," said Muhaimin when opening PKB Branch Conferences in 11 districts/cities in Maluku simultaneously via broadcast. virtual reality from Ambon City, quoted from Antara, Saturday, August 21.
According to him, the results of a survey conducted by four credible survey institutions in recent years put PKB in second and third positions as the winner of the upcoming 2024 election.
"The survey was carried out by four credible institutions in the last few years. The result is that PKB can penetrate the top two if all administrators up to the lowest level in all regions work in 34 regions with comprehensive movement variations," he said.
Muhaimin, who is familiarly called Gus Ami, admitted that the PDI-P is a solid party as well as the toughest rival in the 2024 election, but it is not impossible that the party he leads can continue to be in the main rankings of the upcoming elections.
"Therefore, all party officials must continue to move to gather all the strengths they have, including fixing the party structure down to the lowest level, namely villages and urban villages," he said.
So far, according to Muhaimin, based on the survey results, the party he leads is in tight competition with Gerindra and Golkar in winning the second and third positions.
"In the middle board in the 2019 election, we are already far ahead of the PKS and the Democratic Party. We must continue to advance towards a higher level, namely the election winning party. This target is not impossible to achieve in the 2024 election," he said.
He appealed to PKB cadres to continue to work hard by prioritizing social work as the main capital to build the party, considering that the competition in the 2024 General Election is different from previous elections.
The 2024 election, he said, is a periodization of leadership regeneration because President Joko Widodo has entered two leadership periods, and the PDI-P cannot carry the PDI-P as a presidential candidate for the next five years.
"Now we have to be more careful in calculating the strength of the party. Moreover, 52 percent of voters who will take part in the 2024 election are millennial voters. This is an opportunity as well as a whip for all party administrators and cadres to attract the sympathy of millennials," he said.
He hopes that all leaders of the Maluku DPW and PKB DPC in 11 districts/cities in Maluku can work hard to attract the sympathy of millennials so that they can vote for the party in the upcoming 2024 election.
"Use social media as an effective means to attract the sympathy of cadres and sympathizers to support PKB in the upcoming elections," he said.
He added that the existence of social media cannot be taken lightly, considering the ongoing development of COVID-19, which has forced all components to use it as a means for promotion and profit.
