PAN Supports Anies: End The Interpellation Debate

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the DKI DPRD from the PAN faction, Zita Anjani, asked DPRD members not to proceed with the plan to propose an interpellation right to DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan regarding Formula E.

"I admit, the plan for Formula E has indeed reaped pros and cons within the DKI DPRD. However, our debate is not a solution for the residents. People are confused about the council's continuing disagreements," Zita told reporters, Saturday, August 21.

Zita views that the plan for Formula E has been discussed from the beginning between the DKI Provincial Government and the DPRD, even before the COVID-19 pandemic. He claimed that Anies did not cover anything related to the implementation of the electric car racing event.

"Formula E can be discussed at the Commission, everything is open. What's wrong with Interpellation. So far, the Governor and his staff have been very cooperative, all open data is not hidden," said Zita.

After all, at this time, the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing with all the health and economic crises it has caused.

Zita said that DPRD members must pay attention to the disturbed economic conditions of the community, many have dropped out of work, to the death of health workers and the current COVID-19 death case.

"As members of the council, we should be able to show the character of the people's representatives who put the interests of the people first. In the midst of difficult conditions, residents need concrete actions. Those who can help their economy, who can fill their stomachs, who can maintain their health," he said.

Previously, the discourse on the right of interpellation to Anies regarding the implementation of Formula E continued. To date, at least 15 DPRD members from two factions, namely PSI and PDIP, have agreed to propose an interpellation proposal.

All members of the PSI Faction, totaling 8 people, have signed a letter of application for the interpellation rights of Formula E. Meanwhile, members of the PDIP Faction have signed a total of 7 people.

In DKI Regional Regulation Number 1 of 2014 concerning the Regulations of the DKI DPRD, the right of interpellation is proposed to the leadership of the DPRD. The form of the right of interpellation this time was a plenary meeting with Anies to question the reason why Formula E was maintained.

The condition is that the interpellation can be realized as long as it is signed by at least 15 council members and must be more than one faction. This requirement has been fulfilled by members of the DPRD.

However, the council member who initiated the interpellation is still lobbying other members to participate in submitting the interpellation before it is submitted to the Chairman of the DKI DPRD.
