CSWs Caught In Raids In Kemayoran Will Be Fostered For 6 Months In A Social Institution
JAKARTA - A total of 6 commercial sex workers (CSWs) were arrested by joint officers in the Kemayoran area, 3 of whom came from outside Jakarta. The woman with the initials RA is from Palembang and SG is from Lampung. Meanwhile, one transgender with the initials A alias Shinta came from Aceh.
According to officers, they claimed to have lived in Jakarta for a long time. Because it is difficult to find work and survive in Jakarta, they choose to peddle themselves on the street.
"After the assessment at the Kedoya PSBI orphanage, they will be pushed to the women's social institution (PSBKW) to be fostered for at least 6 months. They will be given skills there," said Central Jakarta Social Sub-Department Head Ngapuli Paranginangin when confirmed by VOI, Saturday, August 21.
After undergoing coaching, the hope is that after they leave, they will have the skills so they don't go back to selling themselves on the streets again.
The Head of Sub-dept. gave an example, there were already several people (PSK) in the Senen area after 6 months of coaching from Kedoya, they were returned to their respective families.
"They are equipped with skills, some are in the salon business and make cakes. They are even provided with equipment by the Social Service and Panti. So they have the skills and don't go back to the old way. That's a concept that we have built for a long time," he said.
