Challenged By Genoa, Inzhagi's First Campaign Retains Title For Inter Milan

JAKARTA – Coach Antonio Conte and striker Romelu Lukaku, the most important figures in Inter Milan's success in winning the Scudetto last season, have passed away. Luckily they still have an excellent defensive trio of Milan Skriniar, Stefan de Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni who have remained loyal to the Nerazzuri.

But Inter Milan's new boss, Simone Inzaghi, is currently believed to be navigating the team's turbulent period. The turmoil is believed to be unlikely to end with back-to-back titles for Inter this season.

“In my opinion, Inter's targets are ambitious. I don't like to make big statements, but the motivation of the players will make all the difference and during pre-season they have shown me that they have a lot. I'm confident," said Inzhagi, regarding their title defense target this season, as quoted by Inter.it's official lama.

However, the first match in the Italian League this season against Genoa, it did not make the Nerazzuri's latest campaign any less interesting for the audience. On the contrary, Internisti will be waiting closely for the inaugural match of the 2021/2022 season at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, Milan, this Saturday, August 21 with enthusiasm.

A stock player like Denzel Dumfries after his outstanding performances for the Netherlands at Euro 2020, could be an option. He should be able to prove a reasonable substitute at right wing-back for Achraf Hakimi who left for PSG this season.

It will also be interesting to see if Inzaghi can bring the best out of Hakan Calhanoglu, who often frustrates AC Milan fans, and whether Edin Dzeko can still be a reliable source of goals at the age of 35.

Inter have won their last six league meetings with Genoa. The Nerazzuri have also scored 21 goals and kept a clean sheet in their last six meetings. This capital is good enough, to make Inzaghi give the first win for Inter this season.
