Without Messi And Neymar, PSG Will Still Be Fierce When They Beat Brest 4-2

JAKARTA – Paris Saint-Germain extended their perfect record in the French League after their hard-earned 4-2 win over Brest at Stade Francis le Ble Stadium, Friday 20 August or early Saturday WIB.

Ander Herrera and Kylian Mbappé led PSG to a third successive win with goals in the first half. Brest's Franck Honorat pulled one back just before half-time but Idrissa Gueye's long-range effort restored the visitors' two-goal lead in the first half.

Steve Mounié made a dangerous move five minutes from time and PSG had to endure some unpleasant moments before finally a final kick from substitute ngel Di María sealed PSG's points in the game.

PSG this time back to playing without Lionel Messi. The Argentine star has not made his debut since joining from Barcelona. Forward Neymar and defender Sergio Ramos are also absent, but Mauricio Pochettino still has the luxury of appointing a star-studded bench.

Di María, Julian Draxler and Marquinhos were among the substitutes, as was Gianluigi Donnarumma, a summer signing from Milan.

Mbappé almost gave PSG the lead in the third minute at the near post but was denied by Marco Bizot's fine save. Marco Verratti came close to scoring in his first league goal since May 2017 but Herrera broke the deadlock after 23 minutes.

Brendan Chardonnet cleared Mbappé's cross to the edge of the box and Bizot pushed Herrera's volley into the post before the ball drifted over the line.

Mbappe doubled PSG's lead 13 minutes later with a superb late header after Georginio Wijnaldum's shot was blocked. Romain Faivre's clever shot saw Honorat open fire under Keylor Navas.

Bizot made a similar hash of Gueye's effort and Mounié darted home to give Brest hope before Di María put PSG on a 4-2 win.
