Mayor Of Kediri Massive Vaccinations According To Jokowi's Instructions

KEDIRI - The mayor of Kediri, East Java, Abdullah Abu Bakar, confirmed that he would carry out a more massive COVID-19 mass vaccination, maintain the availability of drugs, and treat patients in centralized isolation following President Joko Widodo's instructions.

The mayor said the Kediri City Government would continue to accelerate the COVID-19 vaccination. The Kediri City Government has collaborated with health universities to become vaccinators so that the acceleration of vaccination runs smoothly.

"We will carry out more massive vaccinations. The President said that he would give more vaccines. God willing, when the vaccine comes, we will make it even more massive," he said in Kediri, quoted by Antara, Friday, August 20.

Based on data from the Health Office of the City of Kediri as of August 18, the recipients of dose one reached 147,354 people, dose two were 87,685 people, and dose three was 1,827 people.

The Kediri City Government has prepared a centralized isolation area in the former Work Training Center (BLK) and the Indonesian National Building (GNI). Currently the centralized isolation area has been utilized.

Based on data from the Kediri City BPBD on August 19, 2021, the centralized isolation place was filled with 30 people.

"Later on, residents who are confirmed positive for COVID-19 will be directed to centralized isolation. We have provided a place and all the facilities have been prepared. Including eating, drinking, sunbathing and sleeping places. All facilities are comfortable and can be used," he said.

The Mayor of Kediri also said that the availability of medicines in Kediri City was still safe. The City Government of Kediri together with Forkopimda continues to monitor the availability of medicines in the City of Kediri.

"We from the Forkopimda of Kediri City guarantee that medicines in Kediri City are safe. God willing, they will continue to be available," he said.

Meanwhile, data and graphs of COVID-19 cases in Kediri City are starting to look sloping. The government will continue to make efforts to control the COVID-19 case.

In controlling COVID-19 cases, according to the Mayor, cooperation from all parties is also needed. If the case can be controlled then the economy can grow well.

"I ask that we can work together to control all of this. Hopefully with this kind of effort, God willing, we can reduce the number of COVID-19 and treat our brothers and sisters well. So nothing is too late to be treated. Kediri, the patient came in in a bad condition. Hopefully, this effort will be beneficial for all of us," he hoped.

The Mayor of Kediri participated in a meeting during President Joko Widodo's working visit in Madiun, Thursday, August 19. President Joko Widodo gave several emphases in his directives to Forkopimda throughout East Java in handling COVID-19, starting from the centralized isolation of COVID-19 patients, accelerating vaccinations, and the availability of medicines.

In Kediri City, as of Thursday, August 19, there were 3,701 people who were confirmed positive for COVID-19. There are 437 people who are still being treated, 2,921 people have recovered and 343 people have died.
