SAR Team Looking For Man Who Jumped From Bungo Jambi Bridge
JAMBI - A joint SAR team and residents are searching for a man suspected of having a mental disorder who jumped from the Simpang Jambi bridge in Bungo Regency.
"The team is currently still looking for a man suspected of being depressed or having a mental disorder who jumped and drowned in the Batang Tebo River, precisely in Simpang Jambi, Bungo Regency," said Head of the Jambi Basarnas Office, Abdul Malik, quoted by Antara, Friday, August 20. .
The search was carried out after the Jambi Basarnas in Bungo Regency received information about the incident from the Bungo Police at around 16.10 WIB.
Abdul Malik said the incident occurred on Thursday, August 19, at around 23.30 WIB. The victim, named Jumawan (46), went to the Batang Tebo River bridge by motorbike.
According to the witness who was fishing at the time, the victim jumped from the bridge. It is suspected that the victim was ODGJ (people with mental disorders), he was depressed because his son left him to go to Java.
After receiving the information, members of the Bungo SAR Post immediately moved to the location of the incident which was approximately 8 km or approximately 20 minutes by bringing equipment such as rescue trucks, rubber boats, satellite cellphones, water rescue equipment, medical equipment, and communication equipment.
