The Action Of Two Motorcycle Thieves Caught A Young Couple At RPTRA Koja
JAKARTA - Ana bin Wali (43) was forced to deal with the police. He was arrested by residents after he was caught stealing a Honda Beat motorbike at the RPTRA Radar Pembangunan, North Badak Rawa, Koja District, North Jakarta.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Koja Police, Iptu Wahyudi said the incident began when the man from Karawang came to the scene with a friend named Kumis (DPO).
At the time of the incident, said Kanit, the victim Turino (34) and witness M. Tari were sitting at the scene at the RPTRA. Turino motorbike parked outside the park.
"The victim caught two perpetrators approaching his motorbike. Then the perpetrator pushed the victim's motorbike to steal it," said Kanit when contacted by VOI, Friday, August 20.
Seeing the incident, the victim shouted the thief and chased the perpetrator.
Although the perpetrators had run away, their actions were discovered by members of the Koja Police Opsnal who passed by at the scene.
"The perpetrator, Ana bin Wali, was secured with the help of the residents. When searched, evidence was found in the back of the left pant pocket in the form of 1 letter T key, 1 letter T master key and 6 letter T keys," he said.
Angry residents immediately punched the victim in the face. Luckily, the residents' tantrums were quelled by police officers. Then the perpetrators along with the evidence were brought to the Koja Police Headquarters for further processing.
"The perpetrator admitted that he had stolen a motorbike 4 times in the Koja area. We are still looking for another perpetrator who is often known as Kumis," added Kanit.
The perpetrators were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code with a maximum sentence of 5 years in prison.
