PAPUA - A total of 11 political parties (parties) that have seats in the West Papuan House of Representatives received financial assistance in the 2021 fiscal year from the government in the amount of Rp. 1.6 billion. This fund is given to support the activities of political party organizations in this province.
The rows of parties that received were DPW PKB, DPD Gerindra, DPD PDIP, DPD Golkar, DPW NasDem, DPW PKS, DPW Perindo, DPW PAN, DPD Hanura, DPD Democrat, and DPD PKPI.
The handover was carried out through the signing of the minutes of delivery followed by the signing of the integrity pact at the Aston Niu Hotel Manokwari, Friday, August 20.
West Papua Governor Dominggus Mandacan said the financial assistance of political parties is to ensure the implementation of political education for members, political party cadres, and the public as sympathizers.
This assistance is sourced from the APBN and APBD of the Province of West Papua which is given proportionally to political parties that get seats in the DPR, DPRP, and Regency/City DPRD. The calculation in this financial distribution is also adjusted to the number of votes.
The governor said that there were 11 political parties that won seats in the West Papua House of Representatives as a result of the 2019 elections.
However, Dominggus asserted, political parties receiving assistance must pay attention to the deadline for accountability no later than 1 month after the end of the fiscal year or to be precise on January 30, 2022.
"If the accountability cannot be submitted within the stipulated time limit, the application for assistance from political parties for the following year cannot be submitted until the results of the examination from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK)," said the Governor.
He also reminded each political party to make the best use of the financial assistance for organizational development ahead of the 2024 Simultaneous General Elections.
"Immediately prepare each political party organization properly and participate in the successful implementation of the 2024 Election so that it can be carried out safely and peacefully, especially in this province," said the Governor of West Papua.
Meanwhile, the Head of the West Papua National Unity and Political Unity Agency (Kesbangpol) Baesara Wael explained that the determination of 11 political parties to receive aid in this province was through the West Papua KPU Decree Number: 998/PL.01.9-KPT/92/PROV/VIII/2019 dated 13 August 2019.
Prior to submission of financial assistance from political parties, said Baesara, it must first be verified since May 2021. After being declared complete and fulfilling the conditions, it will be followed by the signing of the minutes and integrity pact which were carried out today.
"The disbursement is through the West Papua Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD). The money is transferred to the accounts of each political party," said Baesara Wael.
