Foot Shot, Online Taxi Driver Robber In Deli Serdang Arrested By Police
MEDAN - Police have arrested members of a gang of heavily armed criminals who robbed an online taxi driver.
Acting Chief of the Sunggal Police, AKP P Panjaitan through the Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Budiman Simanjuntak said the robbers used the mode of pretending as passengers.
The robbery incident occurred Saturday, August 14, in the early hours of the morning. At that time, the victim, MI (42), a resident of Medan Sunggal Subdistrict, received an order through an application.
"Furthermore, the victim picked up the passengers on Jalan Binjai km 12, namely three men. Two people got into the victim's car, while the other one did not go, with the aim being around the toll gate of Jalan Orde Baru, Sunggal sub-district, Deli Serdang," said Budiman , Thursday, August 19.
When approaching the entrance to the Semayang Toll Road, a perpetrator showed a house and told the victim it was his house. Therefore, the victim must turn around and slow down the vehicle.
"However, the perpetrator used this moment to directly stab the victim several times so that the victim immediately went out to save himself, fainted and was helped by local residents. Meanwhile, the two perpetrators immediately fled with the victim's car and cellphone," continued Budiman.
The police who received the report from the victim immediately processed the crime scene (TKP) and carried out an investigation. The Sunggal Police also coordinated with the North Sumatra Police to intercept the victim's car.
From the results of the investigation, it was known that the victim's car was heading to Rantau Prapat City, so a team led directly by the Criminal Investigation Unit gave chase and managed to find the whereabouts of the perpetrators.
"The last position, we know that the perpetrators are in Rokan Hulu, Riau and we are coordinating with the Bagan Sinembah Police to arrest the suspect," he explained.
However, during the raid, the two suspects fled. Meanwhile, a suspect with the initials MIA (26), a resident of the Medan Helvetia District, fought back when he was arrested.
"When the arrest was made, we had to take firm and measured action on the right leg," he said.
Currently, said Budiman, the MIA suspect has been detained at the Sunggal Police Sector Detention Center. During the arrest, evidence was also secured in the form of a Daihatsu Sigra car and two knives.
"Meanwhile, two of his friends, whose identities have been known, are still being pursued and put into the DPO. We urge both of them to surrender themselves in order to expedite the investigation process," he urged.
For his actions, said Budiman, the suspect was charged with Article 365 of the Criminal Code with a threat of 9 years in prison.
