Risma: Someone Says I Can't Get Social Assistance After Mother Becomes Minister, Let's Check!
JAKARTA - Social Minister Tri Rismaharini said there were people who said they did not get social assistance (bansos) after he took office. Responding to the confession, Risma immediately checked because it was easy to do.
"Often people say that after Mrs. Risma became a minister, I didn't get help. We check now that it's easy to find out that we have never received help before but maybe it made me emotional or something so that I conveyed it," said Risma in an online discussion that was broadcast on the KPK's YouTube. He said that checking the provision of social assistance in the community is currently very easy to do. Likewise in controlling whether assistance has been delivered or not.
In fact, Risma said, from this kind of checking, people who claim that they have not received assistance but have received it can also be detected.
"He (the community, ed) said that he did not receive assistance even though he had a card. After we checked, it turned out that he had received the assistance," said the former Surabaya Mayor.
Risma admits that there are still poor people who do not receive assistance. However, this usually happens because they are not recorded in the data belonging to the regional government.
So, he asked the regions to be able to improve this data, especially since last January to April, the proposed data on recipients of assistance from the government is based on the regional government. Moreover, the number of residents in one area can continue to change considering that there are people who die or move.
"That (which, ed) must be reported by the region," he said.
Risma said people who had died did not mean they would not get help. Their heirs, he continued, could actually still receive assistance as long as a report was submitted to the Ministry of Social Affairs.
"They died, they can get help from their area, once again, we will ask us so that the heirs for their wives and so on (can accept, ed). So indeed the activity of the region determines the quality of the data," he concluded.
