Ibrahimovic's 'Crazy' Mentality In The Eyes Of Saelemaekers: Shouting And Pushing Teammates On The Training Ground

JAKARTA - Zlatan Ibrahimovic always gives everything in training sessions. And he demands that his teammates do the same.

The AC Milan forward has played an important role in turning the Rossoneri's fortunes around since returning to the club midway through the 2019/20 season.

And the improvement that happened to Il Diavolo Rosso with Ibrahimovic is understandable if you look at his behavior on the training ground.

"I've never had a team-mate like him," Alexis Saelemaekers told Tuttosport.

"He's not easy to train because, every day, he has a crazy mentality.

"Ibra always wants everyone to get the best out of themselves. He screams at you and pushes you to go beyond your limits."

This season, Ibrahimovic will be accompanied by Olivier Giroud in attack for AC Milan, who kicks off this weekend.

However, the French player wore the No. 9 which is clearly 'cursed' at the Stadio San Siro. Since Pippo Inzaghi retired, the number nine has not used him for more than a season.

Alexandre Pato, Alessandro Matri, Fernando Torres, Gonzalo Higuain and Kryzstof Piatek have only played half the season. While Andre Silva, played one season but with minimal goals.

"He (Giroud) has a similar profile (to Ibrahimovic)," said Saelemaekers. "Not with his mentality, but because he has won a lot of trophies.

“Giroud has won the World Cup and the Champions League. As a player who hasn't won anything yet, it's important to have players like this to help out.

"They can teach us how to win and they have the confidence and belief to do it. him."
