Five Suspected Jamaah Islamiyah Terrorists Arrested Again, Total Becomes 53 People
JAKARTA - The Anti-terror Detachment 88 has again arrested five suspected terrorists from the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) network in several parts of Indonesia. Thus, a total of 53 suspected terrorists have been arrested.
"Five terrorist suspects were arrested on Monday, August 16 and Tuesday, August 17," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Public Relations Division Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan to reporters, Thursday, August 19.
The suspected terrorists who were arrested had the initials CA, AF, SAT, AMR, and NW. They were arrested at different locations.
For CA and AF arrested in East Java. Then, the suspected terrorist with the initials SAT was arrested in South Sulawesi.
"Meanwhile, the suspected terrorists with the initials AMR were arrested in North Sumatra and NW in Maluku," said Ramadhan. But not all targets have been captured. Because, there are still some who are still at large.
The first fugitive is in North Sumatra. Densus 88 previously identified 7 suspected terrorists but only 6 people were arrested.
Then, the second fugitive is in West Java. Because, of the 6 new targets, 5 suspected terrorists were arrested. They have the initials FS , US, RH, RS, and HF.
The third and fourth fugitives are in East Java. Of the 6 suspected terrorists who were targeted, Densus 88 only arrested four people with the initials FM, ADP, ES, AP.
The last fugitive is in Maluku. Because, Detachment has only arrested one person from 2 targets, namely the initials TE.
