Boyamin Saiman Attends The First Session Of MAKI's Lawsuit To Puan Maharani

JAKARTA - Today the first trial of the lawsuit against the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) against the Speaker of the DPR, Puan Maharani, was held at the Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN).

The trial for the selection of candidates for the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) RI, which will be held at 10.00 WIB, has a dismissal verification agenda, checking the completeness of the lawsuit, both administrative and formiel.

In addition, the trial also determines whether the object of the lawsuit meets the provisions of the law or not. If it is judged to meet all administrative and formal requirements, the trial will be decided to continue. If it does not meet, the claim cannot be accepted.

"I was present at the PTUN trial." said Boyamin Saiman, MAKI coordinator, to VOI via text message, Thursday 19 August.

Previously, MAKI and LP3HI officially sued the Speaker of the DPR RI, Puan Maharani, to the Jakarta Administrative Court. Puan was sued regarding the selection of candidates for members of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK). MAKI and LP3HI's lawsuits have been registered on the official website of the Jakarta Administrative Court. This lawsuit has case number 191/G/2021/PTUN Jakarta.

MAKI and LP3HI requested that the Administrative Court cancel the letter from the Chairman of the DPR Number: PW/09428/DPR RI/VII/2021 dated July 15, 2021 to the leadership of the DPD RI regarding Submission of the Names of Candidates for Members of the BPK RI containing 16 people. Boyamin suspects that there are two candidates who do not meet the requirements because they are contrary to Article 13 letter j of Law Number 15 of 2006 concerning BPK.

The article reads: In order to be elected as a member of the BPK, the candidate must meet the requirements, (letter j) at least two years have left his position as an official in the environment.
