Jokowi Urged To Act Regarding Polemic TWK KPK Employees, Palace Responds
JAKARTA - The urge to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to take a stand regarding the problematic National Insight Test Assessment (TWK) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) employees was voiced by a number of parties. However, the palace requested that all problems should not be directed to the former governor of DKI Jakarta.
The Coalition of Civil Society Saves the KPK urges President Jokowi to follow up on the findings and recommendations of the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) and the Indonesian Ombudsman regarding tests that are a condition for transferring the status of an anti-corruption commission employee.
These two institutions found violations and maladministration that occurred during the TWK process. In its findings, Komnas HAM even mentioned that there were 11 violations during the test which resulted in the inactivation of 75 KPK employees, including Novel Baswedan.
"The president must follow up on the findings and recommendations of Komnas HAM to take over directly the handling and appointment of 75 KPK employees and ask the Secretary General of the KPK to immediately cancel the entire TWK process and appoint and restore the dignity, status, position and position of these 75 KPK employees," said the representative of this coalition from YLBHI, M Isnur in his statement quoted on Wednesday, August 18.
The Deputy Director of Amnesty International Indonesia, Wirya Adiwena, said the same thing. He urged President Jokowi to implement Komnas HAM's recommendations by appointing dozens of employees who failed the test.
"We urge President Jokowi to implement Komnas HAM recommendations, especially by restoring the status of KPK employees who are declared not to meet the TWK requirements to be appointed as KPK ASNs," he said in a written statement.
In addition, Jokowi was also asked to carry out a thorough evaluation of the TWK process to prevent further violations from occurring within the KPK.
Moreover, Komnas HAM's findings show that the process of transferring employment status carried out by the KPK and the State Civil Service Agency (BKN) violates the rights of employees, including the right to work, freedom of opinion, religion and belief, and is not discriminated against.
"Moreover, Komnas HAM also indicated that the TWK process was strongly suspected of being a form of eliminating employees with certain backgrounds, and these employees were targeted because of their professional work activities at the KPK. people's rights," said Wirya.
The Presidential Chief of Staff, Moeldoko, responded to these pressures, who asked that all these polemics not be borne by President Jokowi.
"Don't let all these issues go to the President. What are you going to do at the bottom? I think there is someone to regulate the staffing issue," the former TNI commander told reporters in Jakarta.
Moeldoko said that in the organizational structure of the institution, of course there are officials and have responsibilities, including following up on polemics like this.
Moreover, he believes that the National Civil Service Agency (BKN) already has standards as the party responsible for administering the test as a condition for the transfer of status. "(So, red) as much as possible the President is not involved in it," said Moeldoko.
Furthermore, the former TNI Commander asked all parties to stop appealing to Jokowi in this matter. "Give space to the President to think big," said Moeldoko.
"Technical problems are the assistants who run and that's the structure so that this organizational structure runs effectively. If it's not complicated, it will be later," he concluded.
