Computer Thief Conspiracy At SMAN 1 Lebak Arrested, 29 Compromised Computers Seized

LEBAK - Three members of a computer theft gang at SMAN 1 Cihara were arrested by the Lebak Police, Banten.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Lebak Police, AKP Indik Rusmono, explained the theft case on Friday, August 13 at SMAN 1 Cihara.

"The perpetrators carried out their actions by prying open the wooden door of the computer laboratory using a crowbar, after that they went in, took the portable computer that was still stored in the cardboard box and moved it to a dark place next to the school to make it easier to lift and pack the computer to put it in the car," he said. Indik quoted from a written statement, Wednesday, August 18.

The action of this gang was known to school guards and gardeners. The perpetrators also abused the Jaya Sumarna school guard who caught the theft.

"Aware that the action was known, then the perpetrators abused the victim Jaya Sumarna by using a crowbar and ran away," continued Indik.

At first the Lebak Police team arrested one person until they finally arrested two other perpetrators.

"In total, we have arrested three perpetrators and two people are on the People's Wanted List (DPO), namely TJ and AY," said Indik.

In this theft case, the police secured 29 computers as evidence.
