The Deputy Governor Of DKI Hopes That In 2022 There Will Be No More Spikes In COVID-19 Cases So That Formula E Can Be Held
JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria hopes that there will be no spike in COVID-19 cases again in 2022, so that Formula E can run smoothly.
Bearing in mind, the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan has issued Governor's Instruction (Ingub) Number 49 of 2021 concerning the Settlement of Regional Priority Issues for 2021-2022. One of the programs in the Ingub is the target of organizing Formula E in June 2022.
Initially, Formula E was planned to be held in June 2020. However, the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic caused Anies to postpone the electric car racing event.
"God willing, Formula E will continue to be implemented in 2022. God willing, there will be no significant obstacles. Hopefully there will also be no extraordinary cases related to COVID-19 in 2022," said Riza at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, August 18.
Moreover, the current achievement of vaccination in the capital city is quite high. A total of 9,190,936 people have been vaccinated with the first dose and 4,449,098 have been vaccinated against the second dose.
"Moreover, the vaccine will be completed in the next month in DKI. Hopefully this will convince us all that future activities can be carried out even better," said Riza.
Riza revealed, currently DKI is still preparing a feasibility study or feasibility study for the implementation of Formula E taking into account the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Of course all of these activities are adapted to the situation and conditions of the pandemic. Not only in Indonesia, but throughout the world. Formula E activities around the world are adapted to the situation and conditions of the pandemic, Jakarta is no exception," he said.
Currently, the plan for the Formula E title is still being debated. A number of DPRD members refused to implement Formula E because it had the potential to harm the regional budget. Several board members plan to apply for an interpellation right to Anies regarding Formula E.
