Parade And Fighting Parade In Surabaya
SURABAYA - Towards the commemoration of Heroes' Day which falls on November 10 tomorrow. The city of Surabaya is holding a 2019 Juang Parade around the Hero Monument to Bungkul Park.
Wearing warrior-style clothing, the Mayor of Surabaya, Tri Rismaharini, echoed the spirit of unity among all residents of Surabaya. He reminded that in the past during the struggle, the entire community was united so that they did not differentiate.
"To all citizens of Surabaya when Indonesia became independent in 1945, we fought with all levels of society, there were all ethnic groups in Indonesia. That was mentioned in Bung Tomo's speech at that time," said Risma as quoted by Antara, Saturday, November 9.
At that momentum, conveying a special message for the younger generation. "I want all residents of Surabaya, let us show that the Suroboyo people are the children who will become the role models of the entire nation and our country. Arek Suroboyo are warriors who never know despair."
As many as 3,000 participants will join in to enliven the 2019 Surabaya Juang Parade with the theme Wira Bangsa which means national hero. This parade was opened with the Surabaya Bhinneka Poetry by Sosiawan Leak and continued with the theatrical war on November 10, 1945 by the History Lovers Community throughout Indonesia.
After that, the participants drove to the Aiola Building and performed theatrical speech of Bung Tomo's figures and the heroic war during the seizure of the Wonokromo Bridge by Roodebrug. Here, Risma will read a poem written by KH Mustofa Bisri, entitled Surabaya in front of the Grahadi State Building, continuing to the Sharp Bamboo Monument to the Special Police Monument.
