Identity Held, Police Chase Perpetrators Of Ojol Driver Slashing Victims Of Johar Baru Brawl

JAKARTA - Members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Johar Baru Sector Police have pocketed the identity of the perpetrator of the stabbing that killed an ojol driver on the bridge in Paris, Johar Baru, a few days ago. The victim died after getting stab wounds all over his body while trying to break up the residents' brawl.

Johar Baru Police Chief, Police Commissioner (Kompol) Edison said members of the Johar Baru Police Criminal Investigation Unit were still investigating the case that killed one resident, Indramayu (51).

"The identity of the perpetrator has been known. Buser is still pursuing him in the field," he said when contacted by VOI, Wednesday, August 18, morning.

However, Commissioner Edison admitted that he was still investigating the brawl that killed a resident of Johar Baru. "We already have the characteristics of the perpetrators that lead to indications of the stabbing," he said.

Until now, the police are still gathering a number of eyewitnesses to the incident and other witnesses.

"Three witnesses are still being examined. Of the three witnesses, one of them is from the family," he added.

In addition to conducting an investigation, the police are also developing deeper into the brawl cases that often occur in Johar Baru.

"They (the victim's family, ed) were also late in reporting to us. Only (yesterday) morning after the victim had died at the hospital (the victim's family) gave the report," he said.

In addition to examining eyewitnesses and other witnesses, the police also collected evidence from several CCTV surveillance camera footage. The footage shows a scene of a brawl involving residents fighting.

"If the recording of the stabbing is not visible, the residents who were there came back and forth from both sides. But we are still investigating," said the police chief.

As previously reported, a brawl between residents of Baladewa and Tanah Tinggi that occurred at the intersection of Paris City, Johar Baru, killed one resident of RT 02/06, Kampung Rawa Village.

The victim's name is Indramayu (51). He exhaled after getting a number of sharp weapon slashes on his body.

This brawl occurred ahead of the celebration of the 76th Republic of Indonesia's Birthday. The brawl occurred at the Paris City Bridge, Johar Baru, Central Jakarta, Monday, August 16, at dawn.
