Ministry Of Social Affairs Activates The 'Suggest' And 'Reject' Features In The Social Security Check Application

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) has activated the "propose" and "refuted" features in the "Cek Bansos" mobile application to improve the accuracy of targeting the distribution of social assistance (bansos) and encourage the improvement of poverty data.

According to the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, the activation of the "propose" and "rebut" features is a breakthrough from data problems so far, namely there are people who have the right to get assistance but cannot (exclusion error), and there are those who are not entitled but receive assistance (inclusion error). .

“With this feature, the public can participate in controlling data updates. Community involvement can also accelerate the renewal process so that it helps the task of local governments because in accordance with Law No. 13 of 2011 concerning Handling the Poor, data updates are the authority of local governments," said Risma as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, August 17.

Risma hopes that the addition of these features does not mean to negate the authority of the local government.

“With this feature, it can be a control tool from possible inaccuracies in determining the recipient of assistance. This is what the local government needs," he said.

Meanwhile, the Special Staff of the Minister for Human Resources Development and Ministry Programs, Suhadi Lili stated in Law no. 13/2011 poor people have the right to propose themselves for assistance. This feature is an implementation of the mandate of the law so that residents who were previously not free to propose themselves for various reasons, can be accommodated.

As a mandate from the law, community participation is a choice that must be made in the distribution of social assistance. In addition, because of the large amount of data that must be managed and the strategic role of the data itself, it is a reference for various support programs for the poor.

"Even if there is a dispute in the data update, there is a quality assurance stage that will be carried out by the university," said Suhadi.

The Head of the Data and Information Center (Pusdatin) for Social Welfare, Agus Zainal Arifin, added that this feature was created to support the Main Tasks and Functions (Tupoksi) of the Ministry of Social Affairs. To support data improvement, the Ministry of Social Affairs has a three-stage improvement program.

First, in the form of improving and integrating data which previously consisted of four data islands.

“Currently, 3 data islands have been successfully combined. The Ministry of Social Affairs has ratified the data periodically every month, namely in May, June, and July which is in progress," he said.

The second is inclusiveness. With this feature, it is possible for the community to access assistance, so that people who have been struggling to get their rights now have the opportunity, said Agus Zainal.

Then the third aspect is openness or transparency. With the social assistance check application, it is possible to carry out joint supervision so that the distribution of social assistance is more targeted.

Agus expressed his appreciation for the role of a number of regions that have updated data and submitted new proposals for aid recipients. “Many regional proposals have come in and we are very grateful. The Social Welfare Center is ready to supervise by coming to the regions, if there are obstacles in submitting proposals," he said.
