Due To Odd-Even, Public Transportation Passengers In DKI Increase 27.6 Percent From Last Week
JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that there had been an increase in the number of public transport passengers over the past week after the odd-even implementation in Jakarta.
In the implementation of PPKM Level 4 last week, the average number of urban public transportation passengers was 375 thousand per day. This week, the number of passengers per day is 479 people.
"In terms of the number of passengers, it is observed that there is an increase of 27.6 percent for our urban transportation on MRT Jakarta, Transjakarta, Jakarta LRT, as well as on KRL," Syafrin said when contacted, Tuesday, August 17.
Then, the number of inter-provincial intercity bus passengers (AKAP) also increased. Last week, AKAP bus passengers per day were 1,600 percent. This week, AKAP passengers per day are 2,000 people.
"For AKAP passengers, there has also been an increase. Those who go in and out of Jakarta, those who go to Jakarta have increased by 24 percent," said Syafrin.
However, Syafrin emphasized that the number of passengers, both urban transportation and AKAP buses, had not exceeded the maximum capacity limit of 50 percent.
Syafrin said that there was an increase in traffic volume on the highway by 73 percent compared to the implementation of the first stage of PPKM Level 4. Meanwhile, traffic on roads that apply odd-even tends to be monitored smoothly.
However, Syafrin emphasized that there were no crowds resulting from the increase in public transport passengers and the odd-even roads were not implemented.
"In principle, with the odd-even policy at several activity centers, it is feared that there will be crowds, crowds of residents, that does not happen because they are identified," said Syafrin.
For information, the odd-even implementation will take effect on Thursday, August 12, 2021 and will continue to this day. This scheme is valid from 06.00 WIB to 20.00 WIB.
The odd-even scheme will also be implemented at 8 points, including Jalan Sudirman, Jalan MH Thamrin, Jalan Merdeka Barat, Jalan Majapahit, Jalan Gajah Mada, Jalan Hayam Wuruk, Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan, and Jalan Gatot Subroto.
