Puan Maharani's Message After Reading The Text Of The Proclamation: Indonesia Must Be Independent
JAKARTA - The Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, is tasked with reading the text of the proclamation at the Commemoration Ceremony of the Seconds of Indonesian Independence at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, today or Tuesday, August 17, starting at 10.00 WIB.
This task made Puan remember Soekarno-Hatta who proclaimed independence during World War II. Puan felt the feeling of struggle when she read the text of the proclamation because when the world was at war with the Delta variant of COVID-19.
"Today the same uncertain atmosphere is felt by the world due to the war against COVID-19 and the Delta variant," said the chairman of the PDI-P DPP in a written statement.
Puan tries to reflect on the message behind her duties as a reader of the proclamation text. "What is the meaning of this task, that is what I keep trying to reflect on, what message and mission do I carry? One thing that I have understood since the day I was sworn in as Chairman of the DPR is that I must continue to maintain and fight for the ideals of independence that our founding fathers wanted. and previous fighters," he said.
"That this independent country must be politically sovereign, economically independent and have a personality in the culture of its nation," added Puan.
Furthermore, Puan said, the proclamation is proof that independence can be achieved if the Indonesian people are united and have common goals.
"That if our nation works together, we can make anything happen. The proclamation is the beginning of the process of building this republic into an Advanced and Great Indonesia," concluded Puan Maharani.
