The Original Text Of The Proclamation Will Be Presented Again At The Merdeka Palace
JAKARTA - The Presidential Secretariat conveys that the original text of the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence, handwritten by Ir Soekarno, will be presented again at the Seconds Ceremony of the Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at the Merdeka Palace, Tuesday, August 17.
The Presidential Secretariat team visited the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI) to hand over the original text of the Proclamation. The historic document will later be displayed on the pulpit of honor during the ceremony in the courtyard of the Merdeka Palace.
"This morning, together, we witnessed the state archives, namely the text of the Proclamation of Bung Karno's handwriting which is historical evidence that is of very high value, very valuable for all of us, the Indonesian people, which we have received from ANRI which we will then take with us. to the Merdeka Palace and the plan is tomorrow on August 17, 2021," said Head of the Administrative Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat, Sony Kartiko, quoted by Antara, Monday, August 16.
The handover process was carried out by the Director of Preservation of ANRI Kandar, to the Head of the Administrative Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat Sony Kartiko, and witnessed by the Head of ANRI Imam Gunarto, the Acting Deputy for Archive Conservation ANRI Multi Siswati, the Head of the Planning and Public Relations Bureau of ANRI Widarno, and the Head of the General Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat Erry Hermawan.
After the process of handing over the original text of the Proclamation, the archives were then taken from the ANRI static archive storage area to the Merdeka Palace by the Presidential Secretariat. The presence of the text of the proclamation is expected to add solemnity to the Ceremony of the Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.
The historical document will be immediately returned to ANRI after the Proclamation of Independence Ceremony of the Republic of Indonesia for the best treatment.
"As soon as we use the text written by Bung Karno, we present it at an event or series of commemorations at the Jakarta Presidential Palace, we will report it back to ANRI in the near future," said Sony.
Meanwhile, ANRI would like to thank the Presidential Secretariat for accepting the historical archive to be presented tomorrow.
"On behalf of the National Archives, I would like to thank the Presidential Secretariat, especially the Head of the Administrative Bureau who has been pleased to accept the temporary submission of the handwritten Proclamation Text archive which can be presented at the Proclamation of the 76th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia," said ANRI's Director of Preservation Kandar .
For information, this is the second year that this historic archive is presented at the Merdeka Palace alongside the text of the proclamation typed by Sayuti Melik and the heirloom flag. This is one of the efforts to educate the wider community about the beginning of Indonesian history.
