JAKARTA - The Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri and the Cenderawasih Military Commander XVII Major General Ignatius Yogo Triono took to the field to inspect a number of problematic arenas for the XX PON matches, Monday, August 16. "We ask community leaders not to do things that violate the law, such as blocking the venue, this is so that the construction of the venue can be completed immediately for the implementation of the XX Papua PON," said Police Chief Inspector General Fakhiri in Jayapura, reported by Antara, Monday, August 16. "The TNI-Polri will help solve problems at the diving and open water swimming venues through the applicable legal mechanism. Later, in terms of paying the rent for the place, it is not requested to do it secretly, but witnessed directly by the security forces and related agencies.

"If anyone is still doing the blocking, please call the Jayapura City Police Chief and Jayapura Police Chief. Police personnel will be alerted at the location," he said.

Meanwhile, Jayapura Mayor Benhur Tomi Mano separately said that for the time being, various problems had been handled and residents fully supported the implementation of PON and Peparnas. "There are no more barriers at venues in the Jayapura City area, but we hope that the Youth and Sports Office will continue to complete its tasks," concluded Benhur. Previously, the community holding customary rights had barred several PON competition arenas in the City and District of Jayapura, including aquatics, roller skates, tennis and rowing courts.
