Densus 88 Arrest 6 Suspected Terrorists In East Java, One Person Fleeed And Arrested In Karanganyar, Central Java
SURABAYA - A total of six suspected terrorists in East Java were arrested by the Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-terror Police Team. One of them tried to escape, namely a suspected terrorist from Jombang Regency.
"One person from Jombang was arrested in Karanganyar, Central Java," said Head of Public Relations of the East Java Police, Kombes Gatot Repli Handoko, in Surabaya, Monday, August 16.
Gatot explained that the arrests of six suspected terrorists were spread across six areas in East Java. Namely Surabaya, Sidoarjo, Lamongan, Tuban, Malang and Jombang, each one suspected of being a terrorist.
Meanwhile, specifically one person from Jombang, continued Gatot, tried to escape and was arrested in Karanganyar, Central Java.
"When the person concerned tried to escape. Densus friends managed to catch and catch him in the Karanganyar area, Central Java, this afternoon," he said.
Of the six suspected terrorists, Gatot said two of them were arrested by the Densus 88 Team last Sunday. While the remaining four people were arrested today.
Gatot kept the identity and details of the arrest a secret. He emphasized that it was not his authority, considering that the East Java Police only assisted the National Police's Anti-terror Detachment 88.
"The East Java Police are only backing up. For complete data, the National Police Headquarters will release it," said Gatot.
Previously, the Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-terror Police Team arrested a suspected terrorist on Jalan Jagir Wonokromo, Surabaya, Monday morning.
The head of RT 12, RW 03, Jagir Village, Wonokromo, Muksin said the Police Anti-terror Detachment 88 team arrested a terrorist suspect with the initials E, who works as a seller of household goods.
From the search, the Densus 88 Anti-terror team brought a number of evidences in the form of charity boxes and books.
