Receives Praise, KY Appreciates President's State Speech

JAKARTA - Spokesman for the Judicial Commission (KY) Miko Ginting expressed his appreciation for the State Speech delivered by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the Indonesian MPR Annual Session.

"We really appreciate it, and we use it as a modality to work more optimally," said Miko Ginting when contacted by Antara, Monday, August 16.

In his State of the Union address, President Jokowi said that the Judicial Commission had succeeded in improving its performance in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic through hard work and various innovations.

For Miko, this statement is an acknowledgment of the success of the Judicial Commission's hard work in providing services to the community even in the midst of a pandemic.

"Once again, the pandemic for us is not an obstacle in providing the most excellent service to the wider community," said Miko.

The innovations carried out by KY are holding a hybrid selection of Supreme Court Justice Candidates (collaboration between face-to-face and virtual) and holding trials which are also hybrid.

Another innovation is the provision of complaint channels for the public who find allegations of violations of judge behavior or there are judges who need to be advocated. The channel can be accessed by the public through www.pelaporan.komisiyudisial.go.id, or by sending a complaint using electronic mail to complaints@komisiyudisial.go.id.

"We have prepared mechanisms that can be used by the public," he said. These innovations aim to fulfill the duties and authorities of the Judicial Commission, namely to carry out the selection of Supreme Court Justice Candidates, as well as to maintain and uphold the honor, dignity, and behavior of judges.

"Because we are a state institution, it is our duty to maximize our services to the community. They (the public, ed) do not need to be afraid of being bothered by technology. We will help," he said.

In addition, Miko Ginting hopes that the acknowledgment conveyed by President Jokowi can be the KY's modality in building synergies with relevant state institutions, such as the Presidency, the Supreme Court, and other institutions.

"Once again, KY really appreciates and is proud," said Miko.
