Jokowi: Smart Work And Inter-Agency Synergy Are The Keys To Change Response

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that synergy between state institutions is the main key in responding to changes that occur in the future due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This was conveyed by Jokowi in his State Speech at the Annual Session of the MPR RI, the Joint Session of the DPR RI to welcome the 76th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.

"Smart work and synergy between state institutions is one of the main keys to be able to quickly respond to changes that occur in the future. Balance and mutual control between institutions are very important in our constitutional system," Jokowi said in a speech broadcast online, Monday, 16 August.

The willingness to share burdens and responsibilities, he continued, is also important for state institutions. Moreover, the COVID-9 pandemic has given wisdom to all parties if handling the crisis requires consolidation of power.

Furthermore, Jokowi expressed his gratitude to state institutions that have been consistent and productive in carrying out their work.

"I would like to express my deepest gratitude to state institutions, as well as to Bank Indonesia (BI), the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS), the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), and the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia, including The General Elections Commission (KPU) and the General Elections Supervisory Body (Bawaslu), for their consistent and productive support so far," said the former Governor of DKI Jakarta. , NKRI, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. A similar appreciation was also given to the Indonesian House of Representatives who always work hard and synergize with the government.

"The DPR and the government have succeeded in completing the Job Creation Law, which is the first omnibus law in Indonesia which is the main pillar of structural reforms in our country. In addition, with various innovations, the DPR continues to conduct community aspirations and supervise the implementation of government programs, " he said.

Likewise, the role of the DPD RI which is always actively involved in the discussion of draft laws. "This includes related to budget policies as well as carrying out primary supervision of public services and the implementation of the law on villages," he said.

"This role contributes in determining the handling of the pandemic as well as in improving regional government institutions in the future," he concluded.
