New Johar Residents Brawl Ahead Of The Indonesian Independence Day, Mutual Teasing Is Suspected To Be The Trigger

JAKARTA - The residents of Johar Baru welcomed the 76th Indonesian Independence Day with a brawl between youths. The brawl occurred at the Paris City Bridge, Johar Baru, Central Jakarta.

"Yes, last night a brawl occurred in Paris. We don't yet know what caused the residents to get involved in the brawl," said the Head of the Johar Baru Police, Police Commissioner (Kompol) Edison when contacted by VOI, Monday, August 16.

Edison said that his staff was still conducting a deeper investigation regarding the brawl that occurred on Monday, August 16, at dawn. Examination of recordings of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) is being carried out.

"We have found the footage from the CCTV installed there. We are still investigating," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Johar Baru Sub-district, Nurhelmi Savitri, said that the brawl that occurred was caused by several factors. Like teasing each other, or interfering with each other so that a brawl occurs.

"There are people who tease and annoy each other, usually a brawl occurs there," he said.
