JAKARTA - The holding of the 2021 MPR Annual Session will be held in a limited manner at the Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Monday, August 16.

The trial participants who attended physically were only limited to 60 people. Meanwhile, other invitees attended the MPR Annual Session virtually.

Secretary General of the MPR RI Ma'ruf Cahyono, said that in addition to limiting the number of people present, from the aspect of the timing of the MPR RI Annual Session, it was also accelerated and simpler by adjusting the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The Annual Session of the MPR is held in a series with the Joint Session of the DPR and DPD. After that, the Plenary Session of the DPR is for the submission of the APBN memorandum," Ma'ruf said in his statement, Monday, August 16. because it has the potential to cause the transmission of COVID-19. However, the procession of the plenary session was still carried out without reducing the solemnity.

Technically, he said, the implementation of the MPR Annual Session was not much different from the previous year which was also held in the atmosphere of the COVID-19 pandemic. The MPR Annual Session is held in a "hybrid" manner, which is a combination of offline (offline) and online (online) with the shortest possible duration. The 2021 MPR Annual Session begins at 08.30 WIB. MPR Chairman Bambang Soesatyo will open the session as well as deliver an introductory speech. Physically, the session will be attended by a number of high-ranking state officials, including President Joko Widodo, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, all MPR leaders, Chairs of factions and DPD groups in the MPR, leadership DPR, leaders of DPD, representatives of Sub-Regions in DPD, Chair of Fractions in DPR, Chairman of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), Chairman of the Supreme Court (MA), Chairman of the Constitutional Court (MK), and Chairman of the Judicial Commission (KY).

On this occasion, President Joko Widodo will deliver a speech containing reports on the performance of state institutions regarding the implementation of the Constitution.
