PPKM Successfully Reduce Bed Occupancy, Jokowi: Alhamdulillah
JAKARTA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo said that the implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) had succeeded in reducing the bed occupancy rate (BOR) in hospitals.
"Alhamdulillah, BOR in Jakarta is already in the range of 29.4 percent, in West Java 32 percent, in Central Java 38.3 percent, in East Java 52.3 percent, in Banten 33.4 percent, in the Special Region of Yogyakarta 54.7 percent. percent," said the President when answering questions regarding the impact of the PPKM policy on the reduction in BOR, in an interview session broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Sunday, August 15.
The President said the BOR at Wisma Athletes had also fallen to 19.64 percent, and nationally, the BOR was at 48.14 percent.
Along with this, the President requested that daily COVID-19 vaccinations continue to be accelerated. According to the President, currently national daily vaccinations have reached 1.6 million injections in one day. In addition, the Head of State has also asked for centralized isolation, which according to him plays an important role in controlling the spread of COVID-19. Likewise, testing and tracing of positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 which is requested to continue to be improved.
"Last week, I saw that our testing numbers ranged from 130 thousand to 140 thousand and for our tracing indicators between 5 to 7. Although this is still in the medium category, but I should appreciate it because there is an increase. Testing must continue to be increased so that we know those who are exposed so that they can be treated immediately and not infect others," he said.
