Regarding The Mural 'Jokowi 404: Not Found', PDIP Politician Arteria: Hopefully Those Who Make It Will Receive Guidance

JAKARTA - A mural of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is getting public attention. Because the mural says 404: Not Found.

PDI-P politician Arteria Dahlan spoke about the mural. He considered that there are many other, more civilized ways to convey criticism to Jokowi

"We are concerned that in the midst of welcoming independence, why are things like that still being made. Especially in Pak Jokowi's era, freedom of expression is not prohibited at all. There are still many other civilized ways to convey messages, even if they don't like messages. " he said when contacted by VOI, Sunday, August 15.

This member of Commission III reminded that criticism should be conveyed through appropriate constitutional channels. Moreover, now all channels are opened to express opinions.

Furthermore, Arteria assessed that if the criticism through this mural is based on the public's fear of expressing criticism through social capital because of the ITE Law, that is a wrong view.

"I'm afraid of the ITE Law, if you make a bold mural, it doesn't connect the logic of thinking. This country is already so democratic, every second every second the president is bullied. What's lacking?

"Every second, Pak Jokowi is bullied, but those who are subject to legal matters can't be said to reach 0.01 percent. You can say we are authoritarian," he continued.

Ateria hopes that the mural maker will soon receive guidance. Even so, according to him, all parties must introspect themselves on this incident.

"Hopefully those who did that are given guidance from God. Hopefully this will be part of our introspection. Should we do that to Pak Jokowi? Is there no more civilized way," he explained. For your information, the hashtag #Jokowi404NotFound became a trending topic on Twitter, Saturday, August 14th. More than 14,000 netizens have tweeted the word.

The hashtag came from a mural image which was later removed by officials because it was deemed to have insulted the national symbol. There are many questions about this mural, this is not the first time. Previously there were a number of murals that were also viral and then removed by officers.

One of them is a mural with a picture of two characters and the words, 'Forced Health in a Sick Country'.
