PDIP Will Not Give Privilege To Gibran

JAKARTA - The eldest son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Gibran Rakabuming Raka officially registered himself to advance in the Solo Pilkada contest at the DPD Office of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Central Java in Semarang this morning.

Gibran's advance has led to accusations that President Jokowi is building a political dynasty. As we all know before setting foot in Jakarta to advance as the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Jokowi is a former mayor of Solo.

Responding to this, the Chairperson of the PDIP DPP for Election Winning Bambang Wuryanto said the public could have any perception regarding the suspicion that Jokowi was building a dynasty. However, he emphasized, perception is not a fact.

"Today, everyone can have any perception. Anyone can have a perception, that there are those who are talking about that perception, but some are not," he explained.

However, Bambang confirmed, there was no privilege for Gibran from his party. Everything Gibran has done is the same as that of the cadres who also registered to advance in the 2020 Pilkada.

"In the process of selecting the party, equal treatment. Everyone is treated the same. Please, of course, Mas Gibran will not be given a red carpet. That the matter of the general chairman's decision is monggo. Today, register, come, there will also be another list. . Good day for the people of Solo. There must be many lists, "he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the Democratic Party, Syarief Hasan, suggested that the implementation of the 2020 Solo Pilkada must be transparent. According to him, this is to avoid allegations of nepotism.

"Yes, that's why, it must be completely transparent. The election organizers must really be neutral, the apparatus must be completely neutral," he said, at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, December 12.

Even so, Syarief saw that neutrality and transparency were very difficult to implement. He explained, this is if we reflect on the election event yesterday.

"But based on yesterday's experience, it is rather difficult for us to get it at this time," he said.
