Case Continues, Now Nicki Minaj And Husband Accused Of Intimidating Kenneth Petty's Victim Of Harassment

JAKARTA - Nicki Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty, are accused of intimidating a woman who said Petty sexually assaulted her in 1994 and tried to bribe her to retract her story.

Quoting Variety, Saturday, August 14, Jennifer Hough filed a lawsuit in federal court in Brooklyn. She alleged that Minaj and her associates had repeatedly contacted her and her family, trying to retract statements and deny that a sexual assault had ever occurred.

She also stated that one of the associates came to her house and offered $20,000 to sign a document denying the allegations and offering Minaj to send a "happy birthday" video to her daughter.

The lawsuit was also filed to pursue Petty's responsibility for the 1994 sexual assault, under the New York State Child Victims Act.

According to the lawsuit, 16-year-old Hough met Petty at a bus stop in Queens, NY. Hough alleged that Petty attacked her with a knife, and took her to a nearby house, where Petty forcibly raped her.

Petty, also 16, was quickly arrested and charged, and later accepted a plea deal for attempted rape.

The case resurfaced in 2018, when Petty started dating Minaj, a global superstar. After uploading a photo of herself with Petty, Minaj responded to comments about her past beliefs.

"Kenny is 15, she is 16 and, in a relationship."

In a subsequent radio appearance, Minaj claimed that Petty was "falsely accused" and falsely stated that Hough had "written a letter retracting her statement."

In March 2020, Minaj called Hough and offered to fly her to Los Angeles, according to the lawsuit. She also offered to send her publicist to meet Hough and make a statement that retracted the rape charge, which she refused.

Hough later alleged that other intermediaries kept in touch with her, including a lawyer who offered legal advice on how to retract a statement. Hough alleged that she was repeatedly contacted over the following months, and felt harassed and threatened.

She moved three times in the space of a few months, and changed phone numbers, according to the lawsuit.

According to the complaint, Hough had not worked for more than a year, and suffered from depression and paranoia. The lawsuit alleges Petty sexually assaulted, in addition, Petty and Minaj intimidated and harassed witnesses.
