Police Investigate The Shooting In Minneapolis, Killing One Person And Injuring 11

JAKARTA - A shooting incident occurred in the City of Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States, on Sunday, June 21. This incident left 1 adult male dead and 11 others injured.

"One adult man was killed and 12 others sustained less severe injuries," the Minneapolis City Police said on social media Twitter.

Reporting from USA Today, the perpetrator was not identified by the police and died in hospital.

The perpetrator walked on foot and started shooting at around 12.30am. After that, the perpetrator fled from the scene.

Shouts and gunshots were heard in videos circulating on social media. There was also a small crowd of people around the shooting of the victims when they were taken by the police to the hospital.

Footage also shows windows at the Uptown Theater and a storefront exit.

An early tweet from the Minneapolis police force advised the public to avoid the area in Uptown Minneapolis, a commercial district that includes several bars and restaurants.

As of 4:00 am local time, no one has yet been arrested in connection with the shooting, according to a report from the Associated Press.

The city of Minneapolis is in the spotlight of the world. Because, some time ago, this city became the center of demonstrations of thousands of US citizens who protested against racism and the brutal action of the police against a black citizen, George Floyd.

Floyd died from suffocation after being crushed in the neck by a member of the Minneapolis Police Force last month. So far there has been no evidence to suggest the shooting was linked to the Floyd case.
