Bandarlampung Police Arrest 6 Suspects Of Alcohol Mixers
BANDARLAMPUNG - The Bandarlampung Police have arrested six suspects in the conspiracy of various brands of liquor on Jalan WR Supratman, Telukbetung, Bandarlampung.
"We arrested them in two different locations," said the Head of the Bandarlampung Police, Kombes Pol. Ino Harianto, accompanied by the Head of Public Relations of the Lampung Police, Kombes Zahwani Pandra Arsyad, quoted by Antara, Friday, August 13.
He explained that the disclosure of the case of various brands of liquor began with reports of local residents who were suspicious of their closed activities.
Based on information from residents, members then followed up by visiting the house that was used as a place to mix liquor. When entering the house, it is known that there are four people who are doing the copying activity.
"The four people are GT, HD, HR, and MH. At first we didn't know their activities, when we interrogated and we saw that there was also a copying device at the location, then they admitted that they were mixing liquor," he said.
Of the four suspects who were first arrested, then members carried out developments and managed to arrest two more suspects.
"The arrest of four suspects on August 10, 2021 at 15.00 WIB. Two days later on August 12, we managed to arrest two suspects," he said.
Ino added that the suspect's modus operandi was to prevent the public from knowing about their activities, by admitting that the location was used as an alcoholic drink maker for storing shop items.
So, he continued, the suspects could trick local residents and could launch their actions to mix liquor.
"Because it coincided with settlements and closed and residents thought it was storage of goods and warehouses in shops. So residents did not know there was such activity," he said.
For his actions, the six suspects are now charged with Article 204 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code with the threat of imprisonment for 15 years.
